I believe you are supposed to put all your travels outside Canada during the 5 years eligibility period - regardless if you were already a PR or not.
I was already a PR and I was outside of Canada in the first 2 years of my 5yr window. I just specified the date I left Canada which was outside my 5 yr window and put all the other countries and reasons of travel in the explanation space.
