Hi folks, I was doing my physical presence calculation online, but when I entered my absence for example, from 2015/2/10 to 2015/2/19 to the United States, the number of absence days shows 0. I think it should be 10 days, right? Does anyone run into the same question?

If that period was before your PR start date but within the 5 year period, and you didn't have any temporary presence during that period, it will calculate the absence as zero, as not applicable for the calculator...basically ignoring that travel period.

Basically the math it uses it "Count all dates since PR, less days outside of the country during PR, add 50% of time "physically present" during temporary residence before PR." Cheers!

Or if you went to US and came back the same day it will be 0

I see, thank you! One more question if you don't mind. I was actually waiting for my work permit around that time - I was an international student before that. so I heard during that "gap" period, I was on "implied status". but in the "List time with Canadian temporary resident or protected person status" section, I didn't see an "implied status" option, so should I still choose "International student" before obtaining my work permit?

You will be Temporary Resident visa category for that period also, and so will get half credit for that time you were "physically" in Canada..continuing on Student Visa. Yes..International Student.
