Physical Presence Calculation Question

Hi,

I am looking to apply for citizenship today (Jan 1 2023). My 5-year eligibility starts from Jan 1, 2018.
However, my first entry into Canada was only on Feb 2, 2018, and I was never in Canada before that.

When I fill out the physical presence calculator, the entry says "Date left Canada" and "Date returned to Canada"...
From Jan 1, 2018 to Feb 1, 2018, I was never in Canada, I never entered or left Canada during that time. What should I type in for "Date left Canada", so that I do not take credits for that one month?

You need to capture absences starting from Feb 2, 2018, which is the first time ever you entered Canada. So the first entry in this calculation should be any trip (for which you left Canada) you took after Feb 2, 2018.

I actually had a visitor visa before that time, although I didn't use or visit. So what's happening is, the form is assuming I was within Canada in Jan and accounting for 32*0.5 = 16 days even though it technically should be 0.

No, it is not assuming anything. Even if you did not have that visitor visa, still it would ask details for five years.
