Physical Job Verification???????

Hi everyone, Just want to start this thread because I was not able to get a definite answer for this question.
I have read on the CIC website and in this forum that they do have an option of Physical verification but I have not found even a single blog or entry by any member where there was a physical verification for the job, can you please confirm if there is any one who experienced the physical verifications?

I ask this question because my current organization is very strict in this regards, I am working in IT and organization does not entertain physical verification, I know this because there were physical verifications by some other countries Visa Offices where local police was asked to do the verification and there were issues with the same. I am sure if there is a physical verification then it will most likely fail as the person sitting in the reception would tell them they cannot help with it. They are ready to give me the letter only on condition of telephonic verification only.

I am applying with my previous experience in a restaurant (0631)

What will be the next steps if the above mentioned scenario happens where there is a physical verification and they are not provided with the details?

Hi,don't worry about it. Physical verification directly at your place of employment are very rare.

I wonder what makes people the chances of having an heart attack of the term "Physical verification"
it could take place anytime.

jnathan it is not me who have an issue with the physical verification, it is the company where I work. The reason given was if they allow physical verifications then other employees may actually start looking out for the option and that will have an adverse effect on the attrition and productivity of the organization, I know it is not the most logical answer but that is what it is and that is why they have mentioned they will not entertain physical verification.

As per the guidelines you can give a reference letter from a person who was working with you earlier, in this case how would they do a physical verification as the person who is giving the reference is not working at all in the organization? Companies will try everything to retain their workers even if that is not good for the employee in the long run.

I have never heard any IT company would think like yours does.

Some people think that only those are afraid of verification who lie or do fraud or make fake job letters, but its not the reality. Even many genuine workers are afraid of verification becoz once your present company comes to know that ur planning to leave the company, your job comes under crisis.

I have heard many cases , in which owners reduced the responsibilities of the managers after hearing the news that he/she is planning to leave!! Its not for the case of immigration but even in case of job switiching.

If someone is working as a blue collar or yellow collar worker, this doest not make much difference to him, but if someone is working at the white collar position, rumours that he/she is planning to immigrate or planning to leave the company marks dent on his/her career in that organization!!

Its really a touchy issue, for the job holders!!!

As far as my idea is concerned!! They dont check the person by physical verification...infact its not possible------What i heard from different people is that they make a call and ask from the operator regarding your working status and /or position. Else they ask from the HR department or Administration Dept.

People are jealous in many organizaton for each other. Any wrong or improper answer from any body can create problem for the applicant. Moreover whether u qualifiy or not, rumours can spread in your office that ur not sincere with the company and ur planning to leave or planning to switich for another job!!

I understand they ask for a visiting card for the person who signed the document. I think they call up that person, I am fine even if they call the HR as I have had a talk with my HR and explained them that the process will take about 8-10 months and after that as well I will do the landing and comeback to join and they will be giving me the experience/job duties letter (It took me 15 days of constant discussion with them to make them understand the requirement). They may ask me to sign a bond before I go for landing but that is fine with me.

I totally understand your worry!! becoz, i was facing the same problem while getting the job experience letter from the present employer!! Having a simple job letter is different thing but its really hell of a tough job to take job letter having ur job responsibilities and pay scale in it. Moreover stamping with company seal is even tougher!!

Your bosses doubt that something fishy is going to happen and they keep an eye on you and ur actitivites.

A famous saying says "A bird in hand is better than 2 birds in bush" meaning a " Present Safe Job in your Present Company is better than the dream for Canada / Australia"

Culture regarding job is different in East from West!! Your bosses start doubting on your loyalty to the company!! But still the best thing is that to take them in confidence one way or the other!!

Here many job opportunities ads for senior positions its written "Confidentiality is Guaranted"

I am sure CIO is also aware of this and they do verification very silently and confidentially!!!! That is why they do teh verification after your 1st AOR!! This is wise step by them!!!

They came to his office to meet with his boss, his boss directly refuses that he did not sign any document (Job Description), His boss thought something wrong and become terrified. After talking then its over with a good result… but after that, he was marked that he is leaving, and he did not get the promotion. That was cancel, but the possibilities of promotion was sure

The chance of physical verification of an applicant depends upon his given document. Apart from that, as per my understanding by reading blogs is 3% to 5% of the total FSW applicant of a year faces verification and interview. Now, if the matter is a substance of serious drought or does make a sense of falsification to the visa officer, he/she may requests for physical verification.

A team of two local consulate investigation officers with a Canadian officer goes for physical verification; I have seen several times people written.
If your organization is not visible on the net/yellow pages or it is a very renowned organization, the chance of encounter for a verification is high, on questionable idiom of you application, as per my findings.
