Hi,

I expect to receive an ITA in one of the upcoming draws and started preparing my documentation. I understand when I receive an ITA, I will need to upload scanned copies of the necessary documentation. My question is if I will at any stage require mailing the actual (physical) documents? This is relevant because I need to understand if I should ask for the originals of the reference letters from my employers or if obtaining scanned copies from the employers would suffice.

Many thanks in advance!

You will not be required to send any hard copies after you get ITA but it is always to better to ask them for original hard copies. You can scan it and keep it online as well.

thank you! so I should ask for originals just to have them?

The chances are (very) remote, but you may be asked for these documents at the time of landing. I haven't come across any post on the forum where folks were asked for their employment documents when landing. Proof of funds, yes but not employment reference letters.

Either way, it is always good to have the hard copies handy in case you need them when hunting for jobs later on.

I think all supporting documents will be subjected online. However, some documents such as ECA and police certificates may take a long time to obtain. Good luck~

in very rare case you may be asked to come for an interview where the visa officer may ask for physical documents for verification...
