What is the best way to arrange relationship photos? I was thinking to write captions on the back.

That's what we did. We didn't write on the back though.....to make the captions neat, we typed them on MS Word, printed the labels, and glued them to the back of the photos with a double tape ;). Took us a while since we submitted 170 pics!

What we (and many people here) did, is copy all your pics over to a Word doc or something, and just print out 2 or 3 per page, with captions underneath. This assumes most of your pics are already digital copies or you can scan them into a computer. Easier to organize and arrange vs loose photos.

For our common-law app, we included around 20 photos total.

I arranged my pictures on Word, 3 pictures per page, and added captions next to them or under them. Then printed all pages out. I found this easier than sending loose pictures. I was afraid that if I send loose pictures in an envelope they will get mixed up and not be in a chronological order. :)

Mine was plain paper.. I printed mine out at a printing store (Staples) for better quality, but if your printer is good, I'm sure it's fine too. :)

Mine was also on plain paper. I printed it out using the colour laser printer at my work.

As long as the pics are in colour, clear, and easy to recognize everyone in it, it should be fine. They don't need to be professional quality.

Thanks Guys!

I'm going to copy photos to msword and add captions and print as you suggest. I'm going to put the originals in a packet from photoshop as well.

It's difficult to get inside the head of the person who will be examining the photos but I think that we can assume that they are looking for inconsistencies in the relationship claimed. I really don't think that they are all that interested otherwise. So, we just wrote a time and place on the back. If a specific event was shown, we just identified it, such as a wedding.

As we have been married and living together for over eight years, any more seemed overkill.

I don't think you need to include both formats as it's redundant. If you are printing out pictures with captions via MS Word, that's good enough and no need to also include the very same photos as loose or in another format. Just 1 way is fine.

Thanks for the insight guys. I decided to go with getting photos printed online at local costco. The online site has a feature that date stamps each photo with the date it was taken. The dates appear on front of each photo. I like this since it makes it easy to arrange photos by year. I have sent 70 photos to print for about $8.00.

I am going to type captions in word and then glue or tape it to the back of each photo.
