photocopy of passport requested (prove date enter to Canada)

Hi all,
It's been 2 weeks that CIC sent me a letter but I have not received it yet. I just phoned the agent and have been told that the letter is about requesting photocopy of my passport to prove my first enter to Canada. I'll be away from home for a month relocating for work so I might not able to see the letter while I'm gone. I have a few questions to ask;

1) Should I photocopy my passport and mail it to CIC without the letter from them?
2) Do I have to photocopy every single page of my passport including the blank ones? (2 passports contain 40 blank pages)
3) Should I photocopy in colour or black/white?
4) My application is considered routine or non routine as my ecas is still not in process but received?

Could you please share your opinions or experiences will be much appreciated.

1) Should I photocopy my passport and mail it to CIC without the letter from them?
I suggest not. You need to know which office requested the documents and the address, plus the name of the department/officer.

2) Do I have to photocopy every single page of my passport including the blank ones? (2 passports contain 40 blank pages)
Yes. Provide full copies. Won't cost you much more.

3) Should I photocopy in colour or black/white?
Personally, I don't think it matters. But I would provide coloured copies - you probably do this once in a lifetime.

4) My application is considered routine or non routine as my ecas is still not in process but received?
Non routine. You are requested to provide additional documents.

Hey alex this is what I would probably do. Ask a friend of mine to check my mails when I am away and specfically tell him about this mail from CIC. Once he/she gets it, he/she can scan it and send it to you. Before you leave take a copy of the entire passport, in color, and leave it in your house and let your friend know where it is. Probably type a cover letter and sign it as well.

In this way, your friend can mail the required documents when he/she gets it and you get to see the request as well.

Include a copy of the letter from CIC in the response as well.

hello- I phoned CIC again today asked only one question " did CIC actually send me a letter on feb04"?
An agent confirmed the letter has never mailed our but emailed instead.
I checked my email inboxes and junks but there's nothing from CIC.

The agent made a request to resend that email to me again which will take 5 days.
The first agent should have told me EMAIL not MAIL--I'm very confused by CIC.
