Photo Specifications for FSW

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to request your help with a question regarding the photo specification required for FSW.
In the instruction guide it says: "photos must be identical produced from the same untouched negative". My question is: Is it mandatory to have the photo done on negative film? Is it allowed to send digital photos? I am asking because I did not find any place that takes negative film photos where I live.
Could you please tell me your experience with that?

Spartan - The instructions are very simple. They are in English and not in Greek.

Jokes apart - You CANNOT send Digital photos. Full stop. Next - CIC requests that your photo should be 'PRODUCED' from the same negative. They are not requesting the negative itself.

Everybody uses digicam these days.

Exactly, My question was if we can send 6 photos taken with digital camera.
Have you seen anyone who sent photos taken with digital camera and had the process approved, or moved on to the next phase?

Let me reconfirm this - You need to know whether you can send 6 photos taken from a digital camera in digital format? You mean as a JPEG format (or something similar) to CIC ?

No no... I need to know if I can send 6 photos that were taken from a digital camera, but I will send the printed photos (not the files). It just happens that the camera does not use negative films, the camera is digital (this is what is used in my country for documents in general)

Oh boy !

YES. You can. They use digicams/SLRs everywhere.

This whole thing was a simple one line question - "Can the photos be taken from a Digital Camera?".

The part where you said - "Is it allowed to send digital photos?" is where it messed up for me because that's what it exactly means - sending photos in Digital (which is soft copy).

I went to a good photo studio and asked the photographer to get me the photos that Canada accepts for immigration. He knew what I was talking about and handled everything else.

That's a mistake because different CIC categories have different photo specifications. You should have used the instructions in your specific package and do not let the photographer give you the same spec photos as those he gave the last Canadian immigrants he dealt with.

It is not Mandatory.

The only thing they ask for in the photo specification is that the photo be produced from the same negative. In digital terms it means from the same 'shot'.

You cannot include 4 photos from one shot and 2 photos from a second shot even if they look very similar.
