Is it necessary to take 6 photos of each family member?

Or only the photos of people in the family who are applying?

6 photos of each people in family is mandatory. No Family photos are accepted.

I mean to ask if my parents are not going to Canada, is it really required to have their photos?

i sent mine like this:-
6 photos of me (Principle applicant) + 6 photos of my dependant (spouse) + 6 photos of my dependant (Child).
