Hello ALL,

My application has been refused with the following reasons from the officer. However i met and submitted all of these but still refused.

Travel History - Travel once last year
Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence - provided birth certificate, invi letter from sibling
Length of proposed stay in Canada - 6 mos
Sufficient funds - 5000 CAD, declared property (land) and business.

My friend advised me if might be due to less fund as it was the same case on his end.
They added more fund and it was approved on their next application.

Please advise so i can re-apply soon.
Thanks

Hi!

Unfortunately, I am afraid that it will be useless to apply again, even if you will add some more funds.
I would say that based on the information you gave here, the reasons they rejected you were pretty obvious.
First of all, one trip abroad is not a travel history. Travel history is when you regularly going abroad 1-2 times per year, not just once. And it s better if it s some serious countries as Europe union, UK, USA, AU and so on.
Second, as I understood you have some relatives who is living in Canada. Well that s makes you potential immigrant already, especially when you going for a 6 months trip. What are you going to do in Canada for 6 months? What s going to happen with your business during that time? And you have only 5000CAD for that - that s way too less. I would assume, that it is not only because of the money they rejected you.
However you didnt say much about yourself. So it s really difficult to advice something without the information.
Also if you just put the money on your bank account, and apply again right away - it will not be enough just to show a bank statement. You will need to prove that you did not borrow those money from somebody to show as your funds. And if you wont be able to prove that, they will reject you again.

If you really need to go to Canada, i would recommend to request CAIPS and read the explanation why they refused your application. After that you need to improve what they didnt like about your case and only after that apply again.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response.
First, i don't really get why they would include travel history. How about other people who did not travel at all and applying for the first time? Maybe they're expecting someone to travel a lot since you have enough funds but this does not make sense at all.

I acknowledged the mistake from my end by specifying few months of visit but not thinking if my fund would be enough. My brother sent invitation letter and he specified he'll accommodate my housing but i'll take care of the other expenses. I'll bump up my funds on my bank acct for the next few months and re-apply early next year as i specified to visit sometime in March/April 2014. I'll add an explanation letter on how my business will be managed while im away and not intending to extend my stay. Maybe changing from multiple to single entry might help as well.
