Philippines: Anybody applying for Fall Intake?

Thanks! I'm still about to take the TOEFL next week. I'll send my application to Seneca, the school I'm applying to, by the last week of June when I get the test results. Thanks for the advice. I was under the impression that the Canadian Embassy here in the Philippines is relatively stricter than others in issuing a visa, hence the "need" for an agent. But I remain skeptical about whether or not their "assistance" is necessary. I was actually looking for a cheap and effective way of completing this entire process of getting a student visa so I googled and luckily found this forum. I'm reading through threads and taking notes and you're right, seems like I could get all the information I need here. How'd your visa application go, btw?

I have not yet submmitted my application to CIC due to incomplete bank statement required by CIC manila for my Financial Documents. Im still completing the last 24 months bank statement. Dont worry I will keep you all posted.

I would just like to update my timeline:

University/College: British Columbia Institute of Technology
Location: Burnaby, BC
Course: New Media Design and Web Development
Date of LOA received: January 11, 2011
Date of submission to CIC: March 3, 2011
Date of Request for Medical: March 23, 2011
Date of Medical Result: (they did not mention when it got out. I just called the clinic and asked them about my results)
Date of Medical Submission to CIC: April 26, 2011
Date of Visa received:
Date of Landed:

I'm still waiting for my visa.. They mentioned that I can't call for a follow-up within 45 days after my results has been submitted to them or else it will affect the processing time of my application..

Hello to all,

CIC returned my application due to incomplete application. I used the application IMM1294B and Personal Information because I followed the Specific Instruction of CIC Manila. I am not aware of the notice that as of June 1,2011 " The only study permit application form that will be accepted by Citizenship and Immigration of Canada is the new application for a study permit made outside Canada(IMM1294) form and Family Information form (Imm5645)". Filipino applicants should take note of this notice to avoid delay. As of now the website of CIC manila is not yet updated.

Fedex just picked up my updated application today...

No contact from the embassy since then.. I sent an email to them for a follow up last June 24.. Up to now, no response. I plan on going to the embassy this coming week. Would you recommend I go? I need my visa before the 2nd week of August because we need to pay for my tuition. We didn't want to pay my tuition unless I'm sure to leave.. What would you recommend?

can we also include the list of documents we submitted and also personal info? like age, employment, and travel history for the last 5 years, etc. so we can sort out our differences. who knows if we're still lacking some documents and it became the reason for denying our visa application.

Will be picking up my results this afternoon. Turns out that they just reviewed my application when I went there to follow up. I'm just not sure if they are re-reviewing it or they forgot about it.. :|
