Phd student - Spouse Dependant visa

Hi All ,

My Spouse has got Canadian study permit visa as a Phd student.
I already have business visa. Should i apply for spouse Dependant visa or Can i make use of the existing business visa .

i think the passage to PR will be easier thru business visa...

Do I need to apply for Spouse Dependant visa separately or Can i use my existing Canadian business visa (Valid for 5 years) .
Can you please let me know the procedure for PR through business visa.
