Which Uni are you going for your doctoral studies?

Concordia University and you?

Anyone who applied for Visa in PHD stream in June please share your visa status. when you did apply? and when have you got your visa approved and how did you take the application through VFS or Online?

Please share so all PHD candidates could benefit.

PhD at McMaster University.

Applied online on July 8 (study permit for myself and TRV for spouse)

Online status as of today shows medical is pending.
Had completed few days before applying and uploaded scanned copy of acknowledgement slip.

Still awaiting update from CIC.

Hello Friends,

I have re-applied on June 12, using the online tool. I have a fully funded PhD offer from the University of Alber**. I was once refused for lack of funds, which was not really the case but this time I have supplemented my application with further evidence of riches :P

Did my Biometrics on 01 July, 2014 and currently waiting like a :'( for my medical.

What is expected duration to complete Ph.D in canada universities ?

Hello,
As far as I know, there are no hard and fast rules for the duration of completion of your PhD. However, in minimum it takes 3 years and 6 in maximum (it mostly depends on the nature of your research and supervision). Majority of students take up to 4 years to finish.

Good luck,

I heard, Canada provides permanent PR after completion of Ph.D, is it true ?

you heard it right, but it is not that straight forward. It involves so many steps.
