Hi All

I am a Pharmacy Graduate from Pakistan (D-Pharmacy). I have checked with Delhousie University to get into M.Sc Clinical Pharmacology program. But they have told me that I don't have enough qualification to go for a Masters. I should go for a bachelors degree.
I have checked with colleges as well. I have an offer into Durham College Pharmaceutical & Food Science Technology Fast Track Graduate diploma 1 year Co-op. I also have acceptance from Seneca College Biotechnology Technologist prfessional graduate Diploma 3 yr Co-op. I am not sure if I should apply for Study Permit for these College offers that I have. What are my chances to get visa approved. Would my visa be rejected on the basis of having a university degree and now going for a graduate diploma? I don't know even if I should apply, what program would be a better option Fast track or 3 years. My spouse also wants to accompany me to Canada. He has a B.Comm and has his own business in home. Any suggestions in this situation would be really helpful.

Thanks

well from Pakistan it may create problems u must search some masters degree course in any university. yeah if u prepare ur visa file strong enough i.e getting admisson in masters degree have sufficient amont well above the course tution then there will be no problem to accompany spouse.

Hi

So my chances to get the visa are low with College offers. I should not go for study permit based on that. That's what I can understand from your suggestion Arsalan. Kindly any guidance in this regard would be much appreciated. If that's the case, CIC should not say Acceptance Letter from any recognized Canadian College or university. It should say university acceptance letter only. I am so confused now. I was hoping for Sep 2012. Now if I initiate another admission application to universities it will waste one full year. Please any help is appreciated.

I am also a pharmacy graduate and looking for admission in any university in canada.
what I got information about pharmacy related aspects are

1-Dont go for diploma related programs as there are chances of refusal because you are going to a lower program after a higher degree.
2-You must apply to Master's program in any university this will increase your success chances.
3-In order to avoid from course mismatch, Master's program must be pharmacy related e.g; MSc in pharmaceutical sciences, MSC in pharmacology , MSC in pharmacology and toxicology, MSC in hospital Or clinical pharmacy and other such courses.

To get admission in university is quite difficult and time consuming of almost 2-4 months. this is because all the pharmacy departments have the same demand to contact a department's research supervisor first who will agree to take you as a student (which is a very difficult task).
Moreover, admission to master's program have more tough requirements which i am also suffering.

If you go for master's program in any university now then you cannot enter into september session. try for winter (january 2013).

Firstly, not many universities offer pharmacy in Canada and if there are the admission deadline for September might be very close or already passed. Check if they have fall semester, you can apply for it as most the universities deadline for fall is in July.

Hi ayesha786

why don,t you apply for immigration instead of student visa?

Well better to choose a course such as post graduate diploma or post graduate certificate related to pharma.I don't think any visa officer would reject if you are going for upgradation of your education.frankly speaking master program tough to get in Canada .

Well I have a question to all kindly reply.

I am an engineer and I have no problem in searching a masters degree program in Canada for myself. Now I want my sister who is PHARM-D from a govt uni to go Canada for higher studies. Kindly tell me what is the name of masters level course for pharmacy, also what are the min requirements for these courses? And also the names of the unis with low fees?

It's strange that medical is not very common field in Canada....as I searched some unis and I didn't find masters pharmacy related or may b I searched it wrong....please put some light on it....

Cany anyone explain about sitting into the PEBC examinations? As website doesnt tell the visa requirements
