Hi all...
I am a Pharmacist and I have already submitted my application as a primary applicant. I did my educational evaluation from WES...
I just came to know through someone that CIC does not accept WES report for Pharmacists and Physicians...
Please throw light on this...
Thanks and Regards

I'm not 100% sure I think they accept the education but don't give you license to work in the field.

Here's what I found:
If you are applying:
as a pharmacist (NOC 3131):
if you need a license to practice (for example, providing patient care in a community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, long term care facility or other practice settings) the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) must do your ECA,
if you are in a position where you do not need a license (organizations such as the pharmaceutical industry and government which require a pharmacy degree because of the education or skill set, but may not require a licence to practice pharmacy), you can have your credentials assessed by one of the other designated ECA organizations. Contact the regulatory authority in the province where you plan to live to find out if you need a licence to practice your intended occupation.

Depends on your educational credentials and claimed points, round cutoff, your overall CRS points and MEC (67/100). And of course, the NOC.

Did you claim points for a Masters/Professional degree?

So you have a Master's degree and a pharmacy (bachelor's) degree? In that case, you might be safe. :)

What's your NOC code and work experience?

NOC is 3131 and I have an experience as a retail pharmacist. I am claiming points for retail experience. But have additional masters degree in applied bio sciences which is not 100% relevant to pharmacy but have no experience in it

Well, technically, your CRS points for education will remain the same, and you should be safe.

A Master's degree or a Professional degree are awarded the same (equal) points.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

So, your points will not be affected.

However, just hope that the processing officer doesn't reject your file based on your work experience, which could necessitate an ECA from the PEBC, as mentioned here:
"as a pharmacist (NOC 3131):
if you need a license to practice (for example, providing patient care in a community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, long term care facility or other practice settings) the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) must do your ECA,..."

This is a bit tricky. Anyways, you will have to wait for an outcome.

On the other hand, if you are planning to work as a retail pharmacist (or any other similar field where you'll require a license to practise, i.e., hospital pharmacy, for example), it's better to apply for PEBC document evaluation and get an ECA which will come in handy once you start your licensure. Or, in worst case scenario, you'll have it ready to re-apply if your file gets rejected. Also, if you can get it in time, you can submit the ECA from PEBC even before receiving a rejection.

ECA has 2 formats. One for student to submit to school (has transcript section in it), and the other one is for IRCC to use when accessing for immigration application (has online record for IRCC to cross check). They will reject if you submit the wrong one.
