Hello everyone

I am positing this topic to seek answers from everyone who is in Canada or planning to be in Canada on study permit. I am Planning for 1 year Global business Management program and also plan to enroll in another 1 year program in Marketing after Global business management or may be some other related program that suits my Interest and experience. Now I know 1 year of program that is actually 8 month of studies will get me 1 year PGWPP I had some doubts regarding this as program will start in May 2014 and end in Dec2014 but my acceptance letter says start Date May 2014 and end date May 2015, I called Conestoga College and representative told me it will finish in Dec after 8 months and study permit duration entirely depends on VO, it can be for 8 months or 12 months usually students get 11-12 months study visa or they get 90 days after their study is over but I will for sure get 12 months PGWPP.

I want to ask once my program finish in Dec and I get 90 days to apply for PGWPP or extent my study permit. Can I work for 1-2 months and then apply for another program as I will be on Study permit at that point in time and new CIC rule says student can work after studies full time while awaiting for status?
also once I complete 2 different program with credit hours more than 58Hr's. Will I be eligible to get 3 years PGWPP?

I know I have been asking lot of questions on this forum but end up getting no answers I am doing all required research and I ask these question for clarification. I would appreciate if experienced members or anyone on this forum can get sometime for newcomers like me and clarify these doubts as I have seen many newcomers posting but not getting any replies at all. May be our questions are not that clear to people on this forum or may be seniors just want to chat among themselves about topics they are interested in, but don't want to reply new people. I would say if you are on this forum and you know answers then please reply it will definitely help someone get right information.

I do not think somebory could answer about such situation precisely and tell you in details how it will be.
You deal with CIC, there are some general rules, there are also precedents we are not aware of, there are also diffident CIC agents with different opinions. There not a lot of students who instead of taking a 2 yr program risks to take 8 months programs and then another for another 8.

new CIC rule says student can work after studies full time while awaiting for status?
As I understood not just any status but PGWP. And your plan is to get another study permit.
Eligible international graduates will be authorized to work full-time after their studies are completed until a decision is made on their application for a Post-Graduation Work Permit
So you would be able to work 90 days after graduation of the 1st program while waiting for your next SP.
A study permit becomes invalid 90 days following the completion of studies unless the foreign national also possesses a valid work permit or another authorization to remain in Canada.
Besides, you cannot completely trust CIC in terms of their "promises". In June they can move the date of implementation of new rules or make some unfavorable changes.

Thank you. Do you think that students coming in May 2014 will able to work from June 1st as per new rule on their study permit? I guess that is been announced by CIC on their website too.

But I guess this has been finalized on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-02-12.asp. even I think until or unless it's implemented and it's June 1st we can not say anything.

Elo Mate,

Finally what is your situation now? For how long is your VISA? What about Post Graduation Work Permit?
