PGWP - Validity limited by passport expiry

Hi

the validity of PGWP was restricted by passport expiry which falls on Dec 31, 2024. I have my new passport now. My questions are

- Is online the only way to apply?
- How long is the current time for WP renewal
- Can i apply for SOWP of my spouse at the same time or do i need to wait for my own WP before I can apply for SOWP for my spouse
- Anything else I need to be aware of?

Actually, online is not the way to apply. PGWP extension applications related to passport expiry have to be submitted on paper via mail.

Thanks for the info. When I got my original PGWP through flagpoling, the CBSA officer told me to apply online.

Any idea on SOWP ?

The officer was incorrect. If you apply online, there are chances your application will be rejected. I don't know about SOWP sorry.

You can apply for SOWP extension together with the PGWP extension, but you must submit proof of employment for PGWP holder (letter of employment and at least three paystubs).

People have applied online and got it just fine. Funny thing is those who follow protocol and submit on paper usually have their applications delayed as paper is slower than online.

Instruction was to apply on paper. I'd rather err on the side of caution. But that's just me.

There are also people whose application got refused because they applied online. So this isn't the safest option

Looking at the horror stories of paper application, i am thinking of applying online first and maybe then on paper.
When you are filling up the initial questionnaire, the option to apply for PGWP only appears if you select your current status as "student". is that what you are supposed to do in this case

There are plenty of good YouTube videos on how to go about this. Just search "pgwp extension online".
