Hi,

I will be graduating 3rd year Bachelors degree after this term and I am going to apply for PGWP immediately.
The reason for I just finish with 3 years program is because of my passport expiration date.
Since I only have 2 years of passport time (Cannot extend passport date anymore), I need to graduate early as possible, gain 1 year work experience and apply for PR under CEC.
However, I want to achieve 4 years degree program as well as working.

Then, I have questions here:
1. My present study permit expires on October 2017 and I will be graduating June 2017. (But I will apply for PGWP on May 2017 with completion degree letter from the school.) That means my student permit still have time from May to October 2017. Once CIC issue my PGWP, that means my current student permit does not valid anymore?

2. I already know that work during the student does not count as 1 year work experience in CEC. As I said above, I want to get PGWP as well as new study permit to continue my 4th year study with new admission. Will the work experience gained during this time (meaning CIC issue my PGWP and new study permit) count for 1 year work experience under CEC?

Please help.

Thanks,

1. Study Permit will be expired after 90 days since you graduate no matter what you applied for PGWP or not

2. It's impossible to work and study at the same time. You cannot have both WP and SP

3. Why can't you extend your passport???

Thank you for your reply.

It is very interesting that your answer is completely different from what my school international student advisor told me.
She told me I can hold both visas at same time and I can study as well as work at that time.
She also told me that work experience gained in that time count as CEC.

And the reason I cannot extend my passport is because of military service in my home country.
