When u stayed in India was that part of the official break of the program? Or did you drop out for that period? Also there is a rule that 2 programs need to be completed within 2 years to get the joint PGWP. Also how well did you explain your studies in application because it looks complicated with the switching you did.
No it was not an official break, i just went to meet my parents and my mother suffered from a serious medical condition due to which doctors recommended me to stay back. I did not explain it well in my application. I`ll be applying in 1-2 days again.
Thanks for responding

Hi Everyone, (URGENT)

I got my PGWP refusal two days ago, my timeline is mentioned below:
  • Sept. 2017 - April 2018 - Completed 1st course (Georgian College), studied continuously for 8 months.

  • April 2018 - Sept. 2018 - Took a break as next course was starting in Sept.2018.

  • Sept. 2018 - December 2018 - Did 1st semester from Seneca in course Social Media,
After this, I switched my course to Project Management at Same college that is Seneca.

  • January 2019 - April 2019 - Did my 1st Semester in Project Management at Seneca.

  • April 2019 - December 2019 - Stayed in India due to mothers health condition.

  • January 2020 - April 2020 - Did 2nd and final semester for Project Management at Seneca.

  • June 1st 2020, applied for Post Graduate Work Permit.

  • June 9th 2020, got refusal for Work Permit Application.

The rejection letter says :
"Foreign students in Canada are eligible for a work permit for post-graduation employment only if they have continuously studied full time in Canada and have completed a program of study that is at least eight months in duration "

Why did I get a rejection, I was expecting at least 1-year work permit as I had completed my 1st course continuously for 8 months.

Please guide me through the process, what should I do?
The period April 2019 - December 2019 is the problem, the length of the period is more than 150 days (you may not be considered actively pursuing student on study permit). Did you apply LOA for this period? If yes, you may attach an explanation letter for the long leave from the study, but the chance might be small to get a PGWP.
