PGWP refusal Reconsideration

Hey guys, Hope you are doing well,

Basically what happened was I received my completion letter and transcripts on Dec 5th 2022, But my completion letter says that it was issued in August because thats when i got done with college, but I did not have them in hand until Dec 5th as I had payments due, this was due to financial issues at my parents business due to covid, but I was able to clear the fee by Dec 5th and get the documents. I then applied on Jan 6th for my PGWP , which I believe did not have a clear explanation on this situation so it was refused on May 30th. I then re-applied on June 3rd with an explanation letter with a consultant explaining all the situations, which was the 180th day from Dec 5th the day i got my documents. But I again received a refusal, stating that I had crossed 180 days and I called IRCC to confirm the officer notes on refusal and they mentioned that I did not provide a proof from the DLI of receiving my documents late, I then asked my college for help to provide a proof and they wrote me a letter and I submitted it on the refused application through webform, but my application is still refused. Please help me out and let me know what I can do in this situation. I currently have a visitor record and I am very short on time. Should I make a new application ?

Any replies and suggestions will be appreciated.

My application was wrongfully refused and after submitting a reconsideration request, a few weeks later, it was changed from Refused to In Progress - the account also says they’re reviewing the additional documents. Do you think if they were not gonna reconsider they wouldn’t have changed the status? (Just need a personal opinion, I’m dying of anxiety)

UPDATE: Today (June 5, I received my approval after sending a reconsideration request on May 19)

I got a refusal on my pgwp today that I didn’t maintain a full time student status in Canada which wasn’t true. I have emailed my school also to get a document to support my reconsideration letter.
My temporary work expired today as well. Study visa had expired months ago.

Study visa expires 90 days after course completion and with your refusal, you are out of status and stop working. You cannot work until approval. When did you complete program? It may not be possible to restore status at all so you cannot apply for PGWP from within Canada.

my admission was in 2020, I did some courses remotely, and came in 2023 to complete the rest. The semesters in-btw were the issues, which I already addressed by attaching LOAs from the school in my application.

Even though my course is a 1year program. I continued my studies from September 2023 through May 2024.

So you are without status, cannot restore status unless letter states otherwise and cannot work. Right now you cannot apply for a PGWP from within Canada, and not eligible for a PGWP if more than 180 days has passed since program completion. Get a lawyer for next steps. So it took 4 years to complete a one year program? You can only be part time the last semester.

hey, my application was refused cause I didn’t submit an additional document requested (official transcript), when in fact, I did. I actually got my approval like two hours ago after sending a reconsideration request on May 19.

but you were not out of status when you applied for the reconsideration right?
