PGWP reconsideration

Hi Everyone,
I was hoping for any of your insights/advice in my current situation.
I finished 18 months Masters program and this was delivered through fast-track 1 year program on campus without break.
Upon finishing my Master in May 2020, I applied for PGWP right away. I just got approval today but it was only approved for 1 year work permit.
As you might already know, 1 year PGWP is really tight and doesn't give enough time to Express Entry. I have seen many of my colleagues who took the same program receiving up to 3 years if not and they weren't lucky they still at least got 18-24 months of PGWP. I am only one in our international student with 1 year PGWP - the shortest one. I am considering to ask IRCC for reconsideration of my PGWP application, and was hoping if anyone had any luck on reconsideration process.
Please kindly share your experiences if there is any!
Thanking you in advance for all your advice!

Not necessarily the case. You can justify both the approval or refusal. You should certainly try and I would show how the condensed version is exactly the same as the normal one. Assume that you get no summer vacation but an 18 month program condensed into a 1 year program is still hard to do if you are covering the exact same material, having the same assignments, etc. I would prepare proof that the program is exactly the same like exact amount of lecture time, same assignments, etc.

Same as me. I am one of those unlucky ones who got 1 year instead of 2-3 years pgwp for most of my classmates. I wrote to ircc through webmail and explained exactly what the above said. Even I have letter from the university stating the same thing. Still they never replied. You can try but be prepared for 99% no response.
My suggestion is clear your ielts asap, max out your points and submit your ee. If you are applying through PNP, also start right now. One year is enough for those. At the mean time, find your job. Employer do not care about how long your pgwp is so don't even mention it. Last resort is, 3 month before expiry, ask your employer to apply for LMIA.
In my case, i was too much into my job seeking and put those things aside then covid come. But still I cleared my ielts as soon as it reopened and got ITA. 4 months before my pgwp expiry when the reopen thing still not clear, I requested my company for lmia then things just went smooth and i got both.
So start early and you will be safe:cool::p;)
