Hello everyone,

After 3 long years, finally I have completed my education ;D. Now time come to apply for my PGWP , I have couple of questions, and I am hoping you guys can help me out ???.

1. I have completed 2 different programs (diploma + BA) from two schools, totaling 3 years. Now I want to fill the IMM5710 form, in education field, there is only one spot. Do I just put the latest program I finished (BA - 2012 to 2013) or put BA (2010-2013) even though I have done two different program in two different schools, since I have used my first diploma to get into my BA?

2. I got this completion letter from University, is this letter sufficient to apply for my work Permit?

xxxx has successfully met our program requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in
Management program. XXX completed the program from September 2012 to
September 30, 2013. With Academic Council's final approval, XXX will graduate December 4,
2013.

I also get this letter from international office saying

Mr. XXXX program began on September 2012 and finished on September 30, 2013. Mr. XXX has successfully completed and met the requirement of the bachelor XXXXX

2. Do you think I still need to submit my transcript from this year too (still say register though)?

PS. I am including my Diploma and Transcript from college I have attended between 2010 and 2012 too.

My current WP and SP will expire on Nov 30 :-\

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi there,

Congratulations on your completion of studies! As per your post, I believe you have completed BA of about 2 years first, and then completed diploma of 1 year. I have one question. Why didn't you apply for PGWP after the completion of 2 year BA?

Anyway, I suggest you should apply on the basis of your 2 year BA program. You will get a PGWP of 3 years then as per the below weblink:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp

Yes, the letter from International Office will do the trick. Also include a letter of explanation, giving them details of all the studies you did.

Good luck!

Hi umairq00,

Thank you for replying to my post. In fact, I have completed 2 years diploma first, then, I went to finish my BA (one extra year) in same major. I have done a accelerated degree (last two years (60 credit) of the degree in one year).

So, Sept 2010 to May 2012 (diploma from ON), then Sept 2012 to Sept 2013 (BA from BC). In total, I have studied 3 years.

Why I didn't apply after I finished 2 years diploma, because I wanted to get my BA, and finish school in one shoot :D.

So, I understand that I don't need to wait for the transcript to apply, and just put the BA (2012 to 2013) in the study field in 5710 form, right?

Thank you

Sounds good! Yes, you can go ahead and apply for the PGWP using the letter offered by International Office. They only require EITHER the transcript or the letter.

you should upload both your degrees, 2 year program and 1 year program. It's absolutely fine and in fact a right decision of applying for PGWP after you finish all the programs you planned to complete.

It says either of one - transcript or degree (letter from college stating you graduated) is required. Typically, most of them upload transcripts too as it doesn't take much effort to upload. November 30th is far, but it's wise to apply as early as you are eligible. Hence, you should initiate the process now.I believe you already have a SIN number as you talked about your work permit expiring too (which should be OCWP in your case), so once you have PGWP, visit any nearest Canada Service to get it renewed. should you plan to visit your home country (and if your country required a TRV to enter Canada), get a TRV issued too! TRV and work permit will have the same validity (as in time till they both are valid).

@Umair, just one clarification for you, PGWP is one time opportunity. If he had applied PGWP after 2 year program's completion, he would had to get PGWP cancelled or put on hold to get issued a SP. Hence, it's wise to apply for PGWP after completion of all the studies one has planned.

Wish you luck.

Wht says register... Anyway I am assuming u have college letter from both colleges stating u completed ur program and it also has program duration which is important to ascertain ur pgwp length. Do attach ur transcripts too...
