PGWP Extension

Hi everyone,

Hope u all r doing good.

I was issued PGWP in december 5th december 2019 valid till 10th september 2021 ( due to passport expiry, I was eligible for 3 years work permit). At that time i was in india.
Due to personal reasons i couldnt come back to Canada.

Now I am planning to come back to Canada. I was planning to give application for extending my work permit as I am supposed to get it till december 2022 and there is a policy for 18 months extension.

Will there be any issue ?

Do i have any hope for PGWP Extension?

Has anyone faced such an issue?

Please help me if Anybody has idea about this.

The extensions are only available to those whose PGWP’s expired after September 20, 2021 so you are not eligible for the 18 month extension. As for getting a PGWP extended because your passport expired, you waited too long and you don’t have status in Canada. Do you have a TRV to travel to Canada?

So you need a TRV even to come to Canada. That will take around 5 months. You aren’t eligible for the extension, and your PGWP expired over a year ago. You can’t extend it now. You should have extended your PGWP a year ago.

If your passport expires before your PGWP should
Make sure your passport is valid for the entire length of time you should be eligible for. If your passport expires earlier:

• we’ll only issue you a PGWP that’s valid until your passport expires
• we’ll tell you if you need to extend it to get the full validity

You can only extend a PGWP if we tell you to. If this happens, you have to apply on paper to extend your PGWP so that it’ll be valid for the full length it should be.

Unfortunately I dont have TRV to travel to Canada

If you are to be granted extension until Dec 2022, and now it is Sep 2022, processing time will be close to or after validity of your extension. They will most likely delay to approve to reject

My PGWP expired on Feb 24 and I applied for BOWP on Feb 24 hoping I could attach AOR after ITA through web form. Managed to submit AOR on sep 9 and I was in maintained status. I got refusal letter today stating the officer is not satisfied.

My refusal letter says my temporary resident status expired on 4 oct, 2022 which is today and I have 90 days to extend my status.
Should I apply for a status restoration with PGWP extension or no?
PGWP extension under new public policy or apply for BOWP again with AOR?
Am I eligible to continue working? - I have intermin work authorization email from Ircc valid till May 2023
