PGWP Extension bc of passport expiration

I want to apply for PGWP extension as I didn’t get the full amount because of my passport expiration date. My passport has been renewed and now I want to apply for myself and for my husband (he got an open work permit as my dependant). My permit expires in 6 months, can I apply now? Is it on paper or online? In the website it says on paper but I heard we can apply online too. Does anyone know how long does it take? If anyone can share any experience I’d appreciate.

For the PGWP extension, the official instructions are to apply on paper instead of online.

Another reason to apply on paper is that paper-based work permit applications (75 days) currently have less than half the processing time of online applications (167 days).

I was approved for a PGWP extension earlier this year as I was also given a shorter PGWP due to my passport expiry. Processing time was around 3.5 months for me.
