Your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA in order for you to be able to apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer. LMIAs are typically only approved for full time jobs. The LMIA process is quite involved and typically takes several months to complete. If your PGWP is expiring soon, the employer should kick off the LMIA process as soon as possible (first step is to advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role). Again, you really want to be doing this for a full time position rather than part time.

I don't think I will get LMIA from my employer. My PGWP expires on Feb 25. I applied and received my study permit already. My program will start from May 2017. Can I still work from Feb 25-May (my programme starts)?

No - you can't work between February and May. You'll need to stop working once your PGWP expires. You won't be able to start working again until you start attending school full time.

If my programme has summer break then I could work during summer break, right? For example, no classess are being held between May-Sep.
Also, what would I do with my job? I have a permanent position, should I just quit?

Yes - if your program has a summer break, you can work during that break. However it is illegal to start working before your classes start.

Yes - you'll need to quit your job.
