Hi there. I am an international student of January batch i.e spring 2017 at langara college vancouver.I took 3 courses and failed in one of those i.e physics that was time demanding and needed study at home time which was difficult due to i was also working the same time though the course was an elective and not contributing towards my major courses. My course was Associate of science: Computer science and i changed to Diploma:Computer Science (Co-Op) as i couldnt afford university later on.The other 2 courses were my major courses for computer and i scored A grade in both of them. Now i took summer semester as OFF as it is optional in langara as i was told by international department and now i will work full time. What i want to know is that after reading many refusal cases of PGWP i read the "full time status not maintained" thing as reason for refusal , so will i be also refused for the same reason when i graduate in december 2018 and then apply for PGWP in jan 2019. Although my plan is to be full time student in fall 2017(5 courses) , spring 2018(5 courses), co-op term in summer 2018(1 co-op course) , full time in fall 2018(5 courses). My college needs me to complete 22 courses in order to qualify for Graduation for this program.
So the plan is like:-

SPRING 2017

Completed 2 courses (beacause i failed in 1 out of total 3 i was studying)

+

SPRING 2017

5 courses

+

SPRING 2017

5 courses

+

SPRING 2017

1 course (co-op work term)

+

5 courses

+ 4 courses(these were transfer credit transfered from india as i had already done a 2 year diploma in computer engineering there)

i would like a reply asap as im getting worried for the pgwp eligibility and would request any help to solve this issue if it has become complicated.

What did the course outline require you to take in January 2017 ? Ideally you should have 70% of the course load each term to be considered full time. In case you were not able to take the required courses in a term due to availability of courses in the college then ask your program coordinator to explain that in letter and have it as supporting document in PGWP application.

Sorry to say this, but having 2 courses in a term is not acceptable from IRCC perspective. When you apply PGWP, it would be reflected in transcript, and it would depend on VO to see that you did rest of terms as full time and ignore first term.

If your course only required only to take 3 courses in first term and you failed one then you should be fine. Just ensure that you keep your status as full time with 4 courses each term (or as outlined in course).
