Hi,

I’m enrolled in a DLI with 5 continuous full time semesters. However for my 6th sem decided to enroll 2 subjects in my univeristy and 2 subjects in another DLI that offers online courses(3x cheap) with transfer credits to my university.
My university enrollment letter states i’m part time even though I am enrolled in 2+2 courses this semester. (University gave me Letter of permission to enroll in other uni)

I want to know if this will affect my PGWP eligibility, if yes what is the solution moving from here?

Please let me know,
Thanks

Is your 6th semester your last semester at your primary DLI? I believe you're allowed to be a part-time student in your final semester, though I'm not sure about taking part-time courses in 2 DLIs at the same time.

No, I have 2 more semesters after this.

How does the IRCC check the Full time status? Do they ask for enrollment letters for each sem when applying for pgwp or they look at the transcript? Asking because my transcript would show 4 subjects however uni enrollment letter only shows 2 subjects

That's good. McMaster is a large university with support. I always reached out to my international support department at my university when I was studying, for immigration related information. They have a RCIC on hand, and have access to immigration specialists to ask if necessary.

I would suggest you contact them and ask them this question. I read up on Athabasca university's credit transfer programs, but there is no information about how the process works. They made it clear on their website that you cannot enrol primarily at Athabasca as an international student, due to their distance education programs/online programs. I'm not entirely sure about the rules pertaining to PGWP based on that.

They look at transcripts and the degree/program completion letter. Both documents are necessary when you apply for PGWP after your graduate. The IRCC agents may not always have the information on hand, to check how each university/college define "full-time status". A university could determine a student taking 3 courses or 9 credits a semester as full-time, while another may say 2 courses and 6 credits is full-time. That's why the letter from the institution is necessary. If you've been part-time in one semester, you need the institution to explain that in the letter, so that the IRCC representative has all the information in hand.
