Heyy Guys. I hope you all are doing well. I would really appreciate it if you can share your thoughts regarding this. I was studying part time in the last two semesters in my first 1 year course due to failing in courses. However I will ensure that I complete my next 1 year program without any part time semesters. As far as I know, as per the official rules, I am guaranteed atleast a one year permit in such a situation

However since many others say that they have recieved a PGWP even after having multiple semesters part time, I guess there is a good chance of me getting a 3 year PGWP after completing my 2nd program. Also, I did not work in the last (4th) semester of the 1st course to comply with the conditions of the study permit

Could you please let me know:

i) Am I correct in saying that I will surely get atleast a 1 year PGWP if I complete my 2nd course without any part time semesters

ii) What are my chances of getting a 3 year PGWP if I explain everything well in the PGWP application? I'm guessing that a GPA of 3+ in the 2nd course will increase my chances

Answer to both question is you need to read eligibility for pgwp and not experience from "many others". One of the key criteria is "maintaining full time status during each academic session with exception to leave of studies[read conditions thereto] or last academic session"

Don't expect a 3 year based on eligibility requirements. When did you start the first program?

Hi Toronto Man. I'm in a similar boat where I have 2 part-time semesters.

Any updates on your end?
