PGWP application sent. Proof of processing for employer?

Thank you very much for your help in advance!
I sent my application for a PGWP renewal due to the passport expiry issue by mail on July 30th.
There is an employer who's interested in hiring me and they asked for a proof that my application is being processing / I'm waiting for a decision.
Since I applied by regular mail, I couldn't obtain any relevant paper online.
If I call CIC will they be able to provide something? if anyone has experienced this situation before, I appreciate your input!
