PGWP Application - 2 Questions

Hi everyone,

I'm going through my PGWP application form right now and had a couple of questions - hope someone can assist:
1. I graduated in August and started a 6-month contract position in Project Management in September, do I need to state that I have a written job offer on my application, or just select "no"? I assume I need to mention this on my "letter of explanation" anyway...right?
2. I've never provided biometrics, despite attaching photos of myself to previous applications. Is the section that asks in the "past 10 years, have you given your fingerprints...etc" should I just select "no" again? I assume those are for permanent residence applicants?

Highly advise you apply through an experienced consultant/advisor or lawyer. Think you are in real danger of sabotaging your own application.

2. I would select "no" because I have not given my fingerprints, ever, nor have I been asked to. I think I confused the question as it stated *both* fingerprints and photos. Apologies if that wasn't clear!

Shouldn't she be saying no, as she hasn't ever done biometrics?

No they should mention the job. They are already employed so they need to mention it in their job history & choose yes in the unauthorised work section and provide LOE. It would be misrepresentation if OP don’t mention this period of unauthorised work.

Yes, they have to mention work experience in the history section but no they do not need to mention they have an offer letter. More concerning, how is OP working right now if they graduated and have not applied for PGWP yet?

My study visa has zero restrictions on working off campus. IRCC also confirmed this over the phone with me a while back.

You say you graduated in august, correct? After you finish all your classes, you can only work part time. You need to stop working after you received the completion letter because from that moment on, youre no longer a student hence doesn’t matter what job you have, you need a work permit. Either way, you have been doing some unauthorised work since August.

Late-September actually was when I started working, but nevertheless, that's a complete and foolish oversight on my part, and I'm freaking out a little now.

Would you suggest anything? I obviously need to apply for my PGWP very soon and if I need to quit / somehow defer my employment then I also need to do that asap. Either that, or, I need to come up with the best reason possible for this oversight on my letter of explanation.

I'll be doing this the next few days. I've already started booking consultancy sessions. I've clearly made a huge error and need proper guidance.

Is your student permit still valid? If it’s not, you’ll need to apply for restoration as well.
Last time I check, if you applied pgwp while your permit still valid, you’d be in implied status and you can continue to work.
Either way, you’ll need to write a LOE to acknowledge your mistake. If this is the only mistake you made, calm down and take a deep breath. IRCC has been quite lenient on mistake like this since it’s fairly common and they rarely refused work permit because of this. Pull yourself together and apply ASAP.

I mean, I should...right? I know it's "only" just over a month, but I want IRCC and whoever is reviewing my application on my side as much as possible.

I'd be making it significantly worse if I didn't and they then for whatever reason investigated my profile deeper.
