Hello guys,
i am an international student here in Ontario. i came here in January 2014 and took 2 year (4 semesters) Mechanical technician course.
First semester- Jan 14 to April 14
second semester- may 14 to Aug 14
third semester- Sep 14 to Dec 14
unfortunately i failed in one course in 3rd semester and that course was offered just once a year and because of that failed course i couldn't get one course in fourth semester because it was related to it and even that course was offered once a year.
from Jan 15 to April 15 i was on my scheduled break and completed my fourth course from may 15 to august 15.
and NOW!!
i am taking that course from 3rd semester (Sept 15- Dec 15 hopefully) because it was offered once in year and i had no other choice to do it in-between my course, from Jan 16 to April 16 again i will be on my break and i will be taking that course from fourth sem in may 16. now the problem is i will be part time student in last full year and i have read on this forum that people got their PGWP got refused because they were part-time in their last 2 or more semester but here i got no other option to do it.
and am i allowed to work in this duration?
Thanks

You do have other options.

You should take additional courses (even if you don't need them) so that you are a full time student during your four semester.

It's absolutely correct that being part time two semesters in a row seems to result in PGWP refusals. So you need to do whatever you can to avoid this.

so you mean i can take few more courses in may 2016 to be save. and how many courses are required to be considered as full-time?

Ask your school. You must remain full time except in the last term. No exception.

I called CIC, they said if it was out my hands I need a supporting letter from the college about my course duration and outline and it will be fine.

I assume you called the CIC call centre. Be aware that they give out wrong information all of the time to more complicated questions.

Don't assume you will be fine. Assume you will not be approved for a PGWP if you have two part-time semesters.

Your choice what you do next.
