PGWP and visa extension

Hello everyone,
I am an international student who completed her program on May 6th, 2024. I have already applied for PGWP. But I have read that study visa expires 90 days after completion of the program. So if I don't get a decision on my PGWP by August 4th then would I have to leave Canada?

no.

You will be under implied status. You will have all rights of a work permit holder until you receive a decision

Thank you. Would this same thing be valid if I don't have a decision when my study permit expires as per the "official date"? For me that's end of September 2024.

yes.

Once you apply for PGWP, it doesn't matter when your study permit is expiring.
Your status will be implied and you can work under the implied condition until you receive a final decision.

I applied mine in August 2022 and received work permit in January 2023.
