PGWP 1+1 year vs 1+8mnths

hey!
i wanted to know the difference in the post graduation work permit visa if you do
- two courses of 1year one after the other
VS
- one 1year course and another 8mnths course one after the other

I'm doing 1 year course right now. I've just started in this Jan. I'm planning to take 8 months course in the next Jan.
But I've heard that PGWP rules are changed.

So far i know that your PGWP will be equal to the total number of months your courses are, unless it exceeds 2yrs.
So,
a) if you do two 1yr courses, it will be two years only.
b) If you do one 1yr and one 8mnths, it will be 20months only.
