Hi,

I intend to apply for the sponsorship of my parents. However, as per CIC website currently PGP program is paused till next year.

I was thinking of start putting together the paperwork now in order to save time and then apply as soon the program re-opens in 2015.

However, through this forum I want to get some feedback if this is the right approach.

1) Also, I want to clarify if PGP applicants need to undergo upfront medical exam before submitting the application or instead they have to wait after application submission till further notification from CIC ?

2) Similarly, does police report need to be submitted upfront along with the application or afterwards when required by CIC ?

Thanks for the support !

Medicals and police reports are not needed up front with the application. These will be requested later by CIC when their application begins processing. That include photos as well. The only things that must be submitted are completed and signed applications, Option C printouts of 2011,2012 and 2013.

@screech339

Thanks for your input.

I have another question, regarding the eligibility criteria.

CIC asks for sponsor to submit 3 years of Notice of Assessment (i.e. for 2015 applicants, tax returns of 2011, 2012, 2013) and also meet the minimum necessary income requirement for each of the three years which is equal to the Low Income Cut-off s (LICOs) plus 30% ,taking into account the number of family members for whom the sponsor will be financially responsible.

A sponsor residing anywhere in Canada, other than Quebec, may use the "Federal Income Table" to estimate if his income is sufficient to meet income requirements to sponsor.

(Reference: cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp)

However, the guide doesn't state what income table Quebec applicants should refer to determine the eligibility.

The reason I am asking is that I started working full-time in 2012 and hence do not meet the 2011 necessary income requirement as per "Federal Income Table" but if Quebec has a different criteria that I might fulfill then would submit the application.

Any suggestion ?

Thanks !
