Hello kind people,

I was lucky enough to get the invite for my parents, and I do meet the financial requirements.

I tried looking up these questions using the search option but could not find any concrete answer. Grateful if someone could assist with the following questions:
  1. Does it matter who the primary participant is?
    • my mother is a housewife and has no education - so that simplifies a lot of the questions, unlike my father whose job history is a bit tough given there were periods where he took extended leaves
  2. Will we be asked to provide supporting documents inline to:
    • parents education
    • parents work history
    • parents siblings
  3. We are unable to find the documentation about my father's mother, and there is no wedding certificate
    • will that be an issue down the road?
  4. Can my parents travel to Canada on supervisa once I submit their application for PGP? (they already have their supervisa)

Any guidance would be highly appreciated. Thank you everyone

    • it doesn’t matter who is the primary applicant. You need to provide history about their education, work, travel. They are not asking for supporting documents. The goal is to reunite you with your family. This is not EE where IRCC will calculate points.
  2. Will we be asked to provide supporting documents inline to:
    • parents education
    • parents work history
    • parents siblings

    • Check your checklist and just provide supporting documents for what they are asking.
  3. We are unable to find the documentation about my father's mother, and there is no wedding certificate
    • will that be an issue down the road?
    • No. If you don’t have information or documents then just provide simple explanation in the explanation letter.
  4. Can my parents travel to Canada on supervisa once I submit their application for PGP? (they already have their supervisa) - Yes, they can travel with their Supervisa. My best advise is to inform IRCC about their travel itinerary and prepare to keep them here for up to PR gets processed (1-2 years). My parents were here in Canada on Supervisa when I receive ITA under PGP. The whole process was done in 4 months.
