Hi,

Thanks, really appreciate your detailed reply. I am surprised, my parents passport didn't got any stamp while they entered Canada two years ago as you mentioned your parent's passport got stamped for 2 years stay. Fingers crossed, i believe they are good to stay up to 2 yrs as their visa category is PG1.

Presently, they are not planning to go back to home country due to COVID and US border is also closed. SO, I need to apply for extension.

I like your advise to wait until 1.5 month before the expiry of stay , in case luck shines and they got approval of PR.

Can you advise if you got medicals done for your parents for extension ?

thnx
Hey, no problem! You’re welcome.

We haven’t got any medicals done for the extension at this point. If this changes or if and when they request one, I’ll make sure to update you here.

It’s weird that they didn’t stamp your parents passports. When there is no stamp it is assumed that the stay has to be only for 6 months. But I’m guessing since it’s a super visa initial entry, it’s okay and they might make an exception? Not sure, maybe seniors can advise? It’s anyway been close to two years now so hopefully there are no hiccups.

If their PR gets approved by July then many other PR applications here will also get approved and it will be monumental and unprecedented and we will distribute sweets and flowers and do a happy dance.... hopefully NOT with a mask and social distancing.

Good luck!

Hi All,
My application(s) was delivered on Feb 25th. I have not received any confirmation yet. Just wondering if there is a way to make sure the application is received by IRCC,?
Thanks

Hi,

If your postal mail or courier service said that they delivered it, then that’s the only proof we all have so far that your application was delivered and received by IRCC. A proper confirmation will come in the form of an AOR which would be in a few weeks to a few months. I think majority of applicants haven’t received an AOR yet. Once you get AOR, you will be able to track/link your application online.

My honest opinion, I will say you should apply for a super visa extension. However, you might want to ask an IRCC staff via twitter

thanks, probably i shall ask through web form

Hi. Just to let you know, my application was delivered the same day as you. On thursday i received an email asking for an updated imm 5406. So maybe they will be checking yours soon. Also you can call and ask, they would tell you if they have on file or not. Good luck!

Hello Guys,
I need to double check one thing with you.I answered yes to the question 8 form IMM5768.
Do I still need to fill out IMM5748 and send 2020 NOA to IRCC -PGP ?
My CRA account is locked.

This forum is very quiet! No update from anyone?

If you answered Yes and gave IRCC permission to access your info from CRA then you don’t need to do anything else. IRCC will get all your NOA info from CRA when they get to that part of your application.

Has anybody received file number from CIC?

No one has received their AOR yet, once people do, I am sure either through the tracker or here you will start hearing from it. If you look at the 2019 thread, most AORs were received after 2 and a half months. With COVID delaying more applications, I wouldn't expect to see any AOR until probably early June, maybe a few in May.

PGP is a long process and not a priority especially during covid. Just a reminder that stated processing time is 12-24 months.
