many threads already from people who won the lottery and do not qualify. It really upsets me that many of us have been trying for years and people get it their first time and didnt even check if they qualify. UGH

it says on CBC article that invitations will be sent out over the next ten days. I wonder where they derived that number from, i dont see it mentioned on the IRCC website.

Does anyone remember how long it took them to send out the complete results of the draw in previous years when it was a lottery?

This is like a slow torture for the overwhelming majority who will keep checking but will eventually never receive the invite.

How difficult is it to run a batch job that sends 10,000 emails in a 24 hour period?

I don't think I've ever won anything that relies on chance, so why should this time be any different? The application is for my in-laws and we aren't super desperate, so not that bad for me.

I don't think so. Because I applied in the first hour and I have not rcvd the invite. Unless, they got 10k people in first few minutes (like last to last year).

An hour would be way too late as the first 10 minutes can reach up to more than 10K applicants.

I think it's mostly the second. But who knows. Sad for those who actually qualify.

The guy from the thread is not eligible for the next two years as the applicant needs 3 year eligibility from income perspective.

There should be a way to penalize these applicants in their next draw and prioritize others who follow the rules diligently.

Most likely the second. That is like bidding on a house without bothering to get a bank mortgage pre-approval done first,
