Wow! For the 2020 income requirements it is like 25% lower than for 2019!

Wonder why they took it off? Maybe they want to lower it further. 2020 incomes wont be required?
Its back now, IRCC has announced it: This is just in

How much income do I need to sponsor my parents and grandparents?
You, the sponsor (and your co-signer, if you have one) must prove you have enough income to support all the people you’ll be financially responsible for once you become a sponsor. This includes yourself.
If you’re invited to apply, you have to provide proof that you meet the income requirements for each of the 3 tax years before the date you apply.
We can’t assess whether you meet the income requirements until you apply (if you’re invited).
Note: Because the program has opened later than usual this year, sponsors will be invited to apply near the end of the year so we expect to get applications in early 2021 (likely January and February). Because of this, we’ll assess sponsors on their income for tax years 2020, 2019 and 2018.
We know you may not get your 2020 Notice of Assessment (NOA) until after you apply. So, for the 2020 process, we’ll accept your application if you include your 2019 and 2018 NOAs along with it, and submit your 2020 NOA as soon as it’s available.
This table applies to you if you live in any province except Quebec. If you live in Quebec, the Quebec ministry in charge of immigration will assess your income.
Income required for the 3 tax years right before the day you apply (sponsors applying in 2021)
Total number of people you’ll be responsible for2020Footnote12019Footnote12018Footnote1
2 people$32,899$41,007$40,379
3 people$40,445$50,414$49,641
4 people$49,106$61,209$60,271
5 people$55,695$69,42368,358
6 people$62,814$78,296$77,095
7 people$69,935$87,172$85,835
If more than 7 people, for each additional person, add:$7,121$8,876$8,740
Since many sponsors may have been affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic, the income requirement for the 2020 tax year have been reduced to the minimum necessary income, instead of the minimum necessary income plus 30%.
Note: This does not affect the income requirements for the 2019 and 2018 tax years.
Footnote
Footnote 1
To prove you meet the income requirements, you must include your Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for the last 3 tax years before you apply (2020, 2019 and 2018). The easiest way to prove your income is to give us permission to get your Notices of Assessment directly from the CRA.

Hmm I can see why they put the 2020 income requirements so low.

Having said that it is going to be quite messy. The income requirements are absolute numbers. How are people going to tell exactly if their 2020 income (given we still have another quarter of the year to go) will be above the amounts required? What if people lost their job between now and 31 Dec 2020? It's not unusual for that to happen given the current pandemic.

I hate to say this, but it looks like from and individual perspective people are better off just submitting the EOI even if they are not sure if they will meet 2020 income requirements.

Then later when you file taxes in 2021 for FY 2020 hope you meet the requirements if you won a spot.

Good luck to all applicants! May the Force be with You.

It looks like you're short for 2017. You need LICO in 2017 to cover six people which is

$77,095

Sorry - I typed the wrong year. I meant 2018. You are short income for 2018.

So you, wife, your parents that's under your sponsorship, your in-laws = 6 people. Here is the section of the table for 6 people. I think you do not have enough income for 2018.

6 people$62,814$78,296$77,095

Yes, you include yourself, your children, your spouse and the parents you want to sponsor. So if you want to sponsor 1 parent, your total is 5.

Hi Everyone,
Question from me: If my wife and I want to sponsor both our parents at the same time, are we submitting two interest to sponsor form? One from my side for my parents and one from her for her parents? or can we submit one interest to sponsor form for both our parents together?

Thanks in advance,
Kvn.

You have to submit two interest forms. You for your parents. Your wife for hers.
