I just received our GCMS notes last week and I can see that they are stuck in the income verification. How long it would take to withdraw?
So that means even if the qualifying year for PGP 2020 is from 2018-2020, we can't still apply 'cause we have an active application? What about if I withdraw it now?
You can't apply with an active application. You can only have one application in progress at one time. I would personally withdraw now since I don't see any chances of approval.

The GCMS notes basically confirm that IRCC knows you don't have enough income. They will either refuse you outright or send a PFL indicating they plan to refuse you. I don't see any point in continuing with the application.

Hello Everyone!
So the PGP is back! which really a good news for majority.
I just have a question. Please respect.
I'm applying super visa for my mom, suddenly yesterday I just received a good news that PGP will open next week (trying my luck with lottery system as I failed last time). I'm wondering if I can still apply for PGP while processing my mom's application for super visa?

Thanks in advance! :);)
Yes, you can!

Hey, Guys Just want to add more info, hopefully, it may help.

As @ron09 has mentioned, we have more than enough for 2018, 2019 and 2020

We are still not sure that when they will start sending the invitation. Let's assume if someone can get the NOA for 2020 before sending the application he or she should be good with 2020, 2019, and 2018 year NOA.

That's the same situation IRCC allowed many in 2019 PGP

If you have 2018 NOA then 2018, 2017, and 2016

In not then, 2017, 2016, and 2015.

Also, as the age of the sibling is near 21,

Read this,
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/age-limit-requirements-dependent-children.html

Children qualify as dependants if they

  • are under 22 years old and
  • don’t have a spouse or partner

Hello, has anyone seen anything regarding the income requirements for Quebec due to COVID?

I'm assuming that the 2020 requirements that were spoken about not including the +30% pertained to the other provinces?

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Are you talking about the intake that is opening this month? If so, what you've said doesn't make sense to me.

I agree that for the 2019 intake they accepted both of the below:
- NOA for 2018, 2017, 2016
OR
- NOA for 2017, 2016, 2015

That means that if IRCC follows the same rules for the intake opening this month, they will accept:
- NOA for 2019, 2018, 2017
OR
- NOA for 2018, 2017, 2016

They won't go forward in time and accept NOAs from 2020.

I mentioned... we are not sure when they will start sending the invitation if they sent it after March and someone able to get the NOA for 2020. I believe that should be ok.

Sorry - I still disagree.

It's not about when the invitations are sent. It's about submitting your name into the lottery and whether you meet the income requirements at the time you enter the lottery.

The intake is opening now - in October of this year. People will submit their names into the lottery based on meeting income requirements. Income requirements are always based on previous years that have been completed. 2020 isn't over yet. A look ahead on income has never been done before by IRCC as part of a lottery or FIFO. This would be the first time IRCC has done something like this.

Of course anything is possible and we'll need to wait for the details to be issued. Maybe they will do something they have never done before.

I wonder whether the system will have any improvements to check on eligibility for those submitting interest to apply?

That first step when you just need an email address to submit interest to throw your hat into the draw?

The Lottery is actually perfect to be totally abused and have no one be accountable for the abuse of the system at all.

Previous years so many people applied got picked by the lottery but do not meet requirements. SO MANY of them!

In fact anyone can throw their hat into the lottery system! Anyone with an email address! They can falsely state they are Canadian residents they can fake an address, they can tick the box declaring they meet requirements when they don't! To me this is an atrocity!

But there were no lawsuits. And so many say that Lottery is still the best way?

Ironic isn't it?

Not sure but if you read this https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2020/10/government-of-canada-announces-details-for-opening-of-2020-parents-and-grandparents-program.html. It says IRCC will will reduce the income requirement for the 2020 tax year to the minimum necessary income, instead of the minimum necessary income plus 30%. If they will not consider 2020 tax year then what's the point of mentioning that?

Do we need to provide income documents at the time when we apply for invitation or when we apply for Parents PR application after receiving invitation to apply?

With the confusion and lack of clarity I think the best way is to just put your name into the lottery draw and see if you get picked then look into what information is available after that on the income requirements.

It is a moot point if you meet requirements but are not picked by the lottery.

There will be thousands picked by the lottery who do not meet requirements.

There is no requirement to provide supporting documents at the first stage.

Only after you get the invitation to apply then you need to submit documents.

This is experience from previous lottery draws in 2017 and 2018.

please do not put your name if you do not meet the income requirement based on last years data! They are gonno increase the income requirement by $500 or $1000 ..so be mindful of that...let's care about each other.. for example if the requirement of last year is $40K and your income was $35K of course you are not eligible and you are only wasting a spot!
