So you applied in 2018 and had not actually been selected? Read your previous posts.

Clock is ticking... last year, there were updates around end of December or early January, does anyone remember?
Hold the breath this year, for my in-laws (we co-signed)...
I am practicing to type 1,000000 word per minutes, I swear!!! Have burnt so far a dozen of keyboards so I will have my chance !!!LOLOLO
Joking... this is the only thing we can do now!

Do we have a sample form that we need to fill in during that window, hoping to keep all the details handy

Check the 2019 thread for processing times.

The process is not going to include speed of typing due to last year’s fiasco.
I dearly hope so... And I like (maybe yours) the idea to have some short of minimum resident time prior to sponsor parents...
Or we can do typing contest and then lotto, and then typing race again... wow, so many choices!
LOL

They would get sued again so it has to change in some way.

Yeah, I read the post about the suing cases and just wonder, back in the day of the mailing manually, this FIFS was technically the same but no one got sued. How could they get sued when they (IRCC) just make this FIFS digitally heh?

I don't even get why we need to go through this ridiculous process for parents sponsorship. in the past years, when I had no chance of applying for my parents, there used to be a sponsorship application that you could fill out by hiring a lawyer or a rep to do it for you at a cost or on your own; and mail it to IRCC and wait for the approval. I have no idea who created "Lottery" or "First come First Serve" thing. IT IS SO FRUSTRATING and UNFAIR.

1. Because there was a backlog of over 120K PGP applications, that is why Canada went to the lottery system to restrict the number PGP applications.

The previous system required you to get your application to an office by a certain date so the couriers were being paid to get in line as soon as possible. That was considered unfair because GTA applicants could take the day off work and wait in line and others had to pay ridiculous fees to have someone wait in line to deliver their application first. Waiting in line had become a lucrative industry for couriers or other people. The PGP program does not really benefit the Canadian economy. It is actually a drain so people should honestly be glad it exists at all. Given our ageing population the last thing Canada needs is more older people most of whom will never work or pay taxes.
