Hi guys,

Can anyone help me in understanding the difference between PgDiploma and MEng.
I have gathered some info regarding both, many of them have said that PgDiploma helps you in getting a better job than MEng course.
Is it true??
Where as, others have mentioned that getting a MEng Degree might not help immediately after the course and you might end up earning equal to a PgDiploma holder but that would certainly help you in earning points while applying for PR and in long term career growth which PgDiploma can't.
Suggestion /advices are welcome..

seriously who told u that.
Masters degree is masters degree. Its far above pg diploma.
If PG course is better than why people go for masters degree and take such a huge pressure of study.
GO for masters degree.

Absolutely agree. A diploma will land u some low paying job, a masters will give you the earning potential. Besides this since you are talking MEng, for technical jobs you will need an engineer's license to be eligible for engineering jobs applies only to mechanical, civil, electrical engineering. You will get the license the moment you graduate your masters not a diploma.

The only person who might say this is a consultant who is trying to get money out of you.

An MEng is far (far far far) better and will increase your prospects for securing a job in Canada significantly.
 
Dear i dropped a year just to get admission for masters in canada. There wud b many cases like me who in order to get admsn in master's drop year and even leave their jobs.
So do u think they r mad ?
There wud b reason why dey all do dis.

And if ur agent is saying so den u must not fall in his trap, they dont care abt child's future but only abt deir comission frm clgs. So if u r eligible then apply for master's.

I have applied for MEng only, its nt my councellor but few ppl on this forum itself has mentioned this thing.. Have read few posts and few dem who are pursuing their diploma have replied to my posts.

Its very difficult to get admission in Masters degree ( course based or thesis based) in reputed universities. So, many go to pgdiploma course. Such student go to college not university. If u secure admission in University for masters degree, choose that one.

It depends on study and program..... What is your major??

Applied for MEng in UOO. Results are awaited. :)

B.tech (Information Technology) : 79%
IELTS: 6.5 not less than 6 in any band
Work Exp.: 3 years and more.
