Personal history vs travel experience

Why is there a separate section for filling travel history, when we are already filling all the details under personal history? Just so I understand the purpose of all sections, please consider the points below:
1. For work experience for which I am claiming CRS points, I already listed under work history.
2. The remaining work experience and WHATEVER else i have done with my life in between work and outside of this period, including travel, study etc. I would list under personal history. So these two lists combined will complete the picture of what I was doing in the last 10 years.

Then, what is the need for a separate travel history section?

Your personal history doesn't have to include short trips etc. Your travel history should include all overseas trips

Sorry, if I have misunderstood. Lets say I travelled to the US for about 15 days. I have to mention this under personal history since it does not tolerate any gaps, per my understanding. And again under travel history? The point is, how can I leave out any short travels from personal history since no gaps are allowed?

Personal history will contain what activity you were involved in: education, employment, vacation, sabbatical. you will be travelling for a reason, you will state that reason here to account for those days you were travelling.
Travel history will contain departure arrival dates of travel and purpose for which you travelled.

so if you mention have an period of employment (say jan 2014 - dec 2015) mentioned in personal history and during this time you travelled 10 times, you will not mention the travel here as the period you travelled has already been shown as employed. however in travel history you will need to list all those travels (along with others travel) as the travel history section specifically looks at days you flew in and out of your country.

Also note that you have to list everything you have been doing in the last ten years under personal history, INCLUDING the work experience claimed under work history.

Thanks, understood. I had another question, but maybe it is appropriate to post under the other thread I created.

Isnt the work experience already pulled from the work history section? When I enter the personal history section, all the employment details i entered before while creating the express entry profile are already pre-listed along with education.

I guess it is now, but you need to look at work experience, personal history and travel history as stand alone items which may have duplication.

work experience: all work experience you want crs points for must be listed here
personal history: every activity you were involved in during the past ten years (without any gaps) must be listed here, including every item already mentioned in work experience
travel history: all departure/arrival stampings in your passports held during the last ten years must be listed here with countries visited and purpose of travel.

hope this clarifies any doubts ?

It's a great explanation. But could you please confirm do we need to add the travel time for our home country. In this case, we do have stamps on the passport. For example, x is working from (Jan 2015 - Present) and travelled 20 times to India (home country) via China as a stopover. In this, we do have stamps of China and India. Do we need to mention anything in the travel history? Because as per the CIC, we need to add the travel time other than the country of origin or of residence.

As what you’ve quoted already, it’s not in the requirements to include our travels between country of citizenship and residence.

I didn’t put those travels either.
