Thanks, yes that is true. I will start that process of getting PCC for India (not even sure how to get it from India :( )
But I guess at least it is not blocking from entering the application.
Hi, My husband lived in US since August 2009 and since then he has visited India for a maximum for 10-15 days every year. He never stayed in india for 6 months or over. We still came to India to get PCC. It took 10 days and we got India PCC.

Refer Passport Seva Kendra for more details on the required documents.

Hi, My husband has been to the UK for holidays for more than 5 times, each visits were below 3 months.
I understand we don't need PCC right?
Secondly, in our application do I need to mention his travel history under the question "has XXXX family members taken a trip" even though he has mentioned it in his own application section

I have mentioned earlier that Police certificates must be supplied for any country where you have spent a cumulative duration of 6 months since the age of 18

"Cumulative " - each visit below 3 months for 5 times = 5* 2 months min = 10 months (u are exceeding that 6 months period.)

U must get the UK PCC.

Actually most of the travels was when he was below 18. Above 18 cummulative is well under 6 months.
Is that fine?

Thanks for the info!
How come he didn't get the PCC from US consulate or embassy instead? I am thinking of doing that, going back to India is tough for me

Thank you for this link, can someone confirm if this is true?

If your most recent Indian passport was issued in USA (any consulate) or an Indian Embassy in the country where you are currently residing, the PCC is issued within 4-5 days by mail.

Indian Embassy will issue the PCC immediately on same day if you visit in person and your passport was issued by that embassy.
My passport was issued by Washington DC Consulate. If I go there will I really get a PCC same day? That seems too good to be true.
Don't they check some background back in India?

Hi, My husband and I had to come to India for other reasons and just got PCC here itself. In India PSK provide PCC on the same day of application if you go in person and if you have police verified in the past while applying for passport. So I think if Indian Consulate is providing on the same day, it might be true. But you can email them and confirm before making the trip.
