Hello Everybody,

My husband is a Canadian permanent resident and I'm the principal applicant. He is sponsoring me Canadian permanent residence through spousal sponsorship. I have a quick question regarding Personal history section of Form IMM-5669.

- I'm currently in home country. In the past 10 years, apart from from my home country, I was in the US on a student visa.
- While on student visa, US gives work-authorization to students, with which you can legally work for a company.
- There is one job I had during that period where I worked as an Analyst for which I can't get employment reference letter or pay-stubs.
- After going through this forum, as many seniors have suggested, I want put this time period as "Unemployed" since I don't have any proof.

1. For Activity type field: "Unemployed" sounds right for this situation?
2. For Job /Activity Title, Position field: "Analyst - no sufficient proof of employment" sounds valid?

Thank you in advance.

Putting "Unemployed" would be lying, which is a very bad thing to do in an immigration app. It doesn't matter if you don't have proof of the job. That is not required.

Thanks a lot for your response. I know that I shouldn't be lying and don't have any intention doing it. I was thinking since, I don't have reference letter or pay-stubs, it would be better off claiming this experience as "Unemployed" than claiming as "Employed".

So all employment related stuff in personal history doesn't require proof to be shown right?

Hi Fam,
I have a similar situation, where my husband is on Study permit in Canada and I am sponsoring him .

he was in school from 2016-2020

since full-timer students get to work part-time. In the personal history section imm 5669, should I mention WORKING as well?

If yes, Should I mention in another row with same time periods ( or according to work history)
