Folks - When OOPNP says not to leave any time gaps when completing Personal and Work History section of the form, what is the allowed time gaps to be not mentioned, for e.g. 1 week, 1 month etc ?

It is not possible to include all time esp. between completing studies and starting job or when joining a new job outside of the country.

Please share your thoughts and advise.

Thanks in advance.

CIC uses MM-YYY format so the lowest granularity is month.

If you were unemployed, mention that as well. If you were waiting for a job, include that. If you were on a sabbatical, mention that. Whatever you were doing, include all of that.

Leave ZERO gaps in your profile. Anyways, the system won't let you submit if there are gaps in your profile.

Nominee Application for Ontario Express Entry Streams uses mm/dd/yyyy so we can go up to each day for the last 10 years.

However to be practical I guess, and as you said, each month should be documented.

Any other thoughts ?

Thanks.

I did not leave any gaps, although a few entries were not very clear. For example, for gaps before job, education, travelling for a month etc I just wrote 'home', 'travel' etc. My application is currently in process, and they asked for additional document (Schedule A) today. In the letter they have clearly asked 'What were you doing at home' etc kind of stuff. So now, I have submitted a very detailed Schedule A. For gaps where I was home before university I wrote 'Relaxing at home before school', etc

Give more information, never less.

I just noticed that you are talking about OOPNP, whereas I am talking about my EE application.

Hi guys, I got the invitation under BCPNP.

I have several questions when completing the online application profile, hope someone can give me suggestions.

1. Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

2. Have you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

my situation is that I got refused the Canada visitor visa in 2008, for above two questions, should I answer YES? and what is going to happen if I answer YES?

3. Provide details of any trips applicant has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc.

I studied and worked in Canada for almost 2 years, so is Canada my residence country? if so, during the two years, I came back to my home country 3 times on vacation, are the trips to my home country should be listed for the above question?

I really very confused, hope someone can help. Thank you very very much.. ;)

One more question,

I am 33 years old, for the following question "Provide the details of personal history in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago).
Start with the most recent information. Note: Please ensure that you do not leave any gaps in time. Should I provide the latest 10 years history or provide histories since 18 years old? I saw in some forums that somebody suggest to put the longer time for these kind of questions.

You'll have to give the honest answer which is Yes. As to what might happen, that depends on your specific circumstances as they existed then vis-a-vis today. If you're inclined to answer NO here for some reason, be aware that it will be construed as misrepresentation.

For that time period, Yes.

if so, during the two years, I came back to my home country 3 times on vacation, are the trips to my home country should be listed for the above question?

Yes again. Even though you visited your country of origin, this was still a trip outside your country of residence and has to be declared here.

I really very confused, hope someone can help. Thank you very very much.. ;)

It is fine to talk about just the last 10 years. With CIC, do as instructed and just that.

Hi Asivad Anac, thank you for your explain.

I came to Canada for oversea education in Aug.2013, there was a stamp in my passport, then I came back to my home country in Dec. 2013, and returned to Canada in Jan. 2014. My question is do I need to put the date of my first entry to Canada in the travel history form? If so, as the form asked start date and end date, do I need to put Dec. 2013 as end date? Because that is a one-year course, even though I came back to my home country for vacation, the course was still in progress. If this oversea education period should be listed as well as the vacation period, there will be some overlaps. I have no idea how to put it clearly :'(

Hello Asviad,

I have a gap of 1 n half year before coming to canada, do we need to provide any letter of explanation. Fact is i am unemployed during that time

If we need to fill more than the 5 or 6 rows on the Schedule A do we attach a letter of explanation? Or can the extra rows be added? Adobe editable format isn't my strong suit so I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Just mention status as 'Unemployed' in Personal history for that duration. No LOE expected or required for this.

Hi Guys,

This is regarding OOPNP application, I received the letter of Interest and want to make sure I have all the documents in time. I was working from Aug'10 to Sep'15 in a single company, I have recently changed my job and its' been 2 months 15 days here. Do I need to provide the referral letter from new company as well?

I have mentioned the new job in my work experience in EE profile.

Thanks

This new job makes no difference to either your CRS score or FSW eligibility points. You don't need to provide any reference letters for that.
