Permenante Residence Card PRC

Dear ALL,

i will be travelling to quebec , in may 2013 , iam working in UAE, iam planning to stay only one week in montreal to do the PRC and go back to UAE , as my childrens have school and they need to finish in june , as well as i have master thesis to finish in august.

iam planning to go forever to montreal in june 2014, howver will i have any problems if i stay only one week in montreal for PRC and let my relatives there send me teh PRC by mail?

please help me in this , as iam very confused about the procedure.

its advisable to get the PRCs and then leave the country but yes you do have an option of leaving canada before that & meanwhile your relatives later will receive and send your cards to you. just pray that you dont have any issue in PRC processing like picture problem etc. otherwise you will have to travel back again for the PRC.

Thank you Mis, however , is there any new rules that if i go out from quebec and return to UAe, in the airport will ask me the reasosn , and then they will take the cancellation procedure? as my firend from quebec said that there are new rule regarding this.

You cannot re-enter without PR card as the immigrant visa is single entry. Otherwise, there is no complication.

what is procedure about photo. I guess we have already given a 2 photo with Passport. Do we need to bring more picture with us while landing ?

If yes what is the size of photo ?

NO. Please read the documents which come from embassy with your landing papers and visa. If anything is required at the time of landing, that would have been mentioned in the letter.

Not sure about Quebec and I do not see rules to be different for sending PR card. When you land, you automatically apply for the PR card and it is sent to the address you provide at that time. Yes, your relative can send it via mail to you, but there have been instances that the PR card has not reached in time and if it is lost or did not reach for some reason, people had difficulty applying or getting hold of CIC people. It takes 45 days to 2 months for PR card to reach, I suggest wait until you get that and then leave the country unless absolutely necessary.

If you have to leave, and you do not have a PR card..you can obtain a temporary travel document from your local CIC office.
