Hello

I have PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA THROUGH AEO....ARRIVED IN CANADA AND EMPLYMENT NOW CANCELLED

WHAT SHOULD I DO ?

Dear,

"Employment cancelled" as in Company broke? or Did the employer filled your position by someone else?

I would ask an immigration lawyer first if contacting any immigration authority would affect your status of permanent residence, because your whole immigration was based on the AEO. However what I know from the www.hrsdc.gc.ca is the following:

If the employer filled your position and there's no longer a vacancy for you, you should contact the officer who approved your AEO, you can find his/her contact information on the AEO approval letter that you first received from "Foreign Worker - Centre of Specialization". They sure can help you because by signing the AEO the employer has already agreed for hiring you and cannot withdraw whenever he/she likes.

Hope this helps.

Good luck :)

Dear Cynthia,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

The company has a change of managment. I do not want to disrupt damage my permanent resident status.

I can open my own business I have the money to open a business

I just need to know that if I do not work in the company with through the AEO...How can I keep my PR safe ?

Your Safe no need look for your employer just do what every you like,

you can live for ever in Canada on this visa so good luck

The Company who has sponsored AEO for you can actually close doors on you .....similarly an AEO applicant may decide not to join the company.

You are safe with your PR even if you dont join this company.

Good luck and may you prosper in your business :)

Oh ok , I thought you needed the job, you weren't very clear in your first post. Well, like others said, there's no damage to worry about. One can only lose their permanent residence status If convicted of a serious crime or do not meet their residency obligations such as how long you lived in Canada and the time spent outside...

Good luck :)
