FYI for everyone. Just wanted to mention that the only potential challenge with my application was a very long travel log (100+ trips), so I was surprised that the step 3 to step 4 status change happened in what appears to be the same window as everyone else.
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on September 21, 2018.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on November 23, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on November 23, 2018.
  4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on December 4, 2018.

Hi everyone! Can someone please give me the number to CIC centre and how to talk to the agent. I've been trying to reach them all morning and just can't get to speak to the agent.

Here is my timeline:

  • We received your application for a permanent resident card on September 20, 2018.
  • We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on November 21, 2018.
  • We started processing your application on November 21, 2018.

I'm leaving to Europe next week and I need my card so I can return in January. My husband can mail it to me once it arrives, but I'm just getting worried, if it's in production or something else is going on with it.

My spouse receive pr card in mail.

Based on some of the timelines posted here, I see 3rd update in ECAS is "We started processing your application on.." and then "Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on.. ".
I'm seeing "Decision Made" after "We started processing your application on.." in my ECAS. Something I should be concerned about?

Unfortunately there is no uniform or predictable process. With that said, if your application has no problems or mistakes and is processed by the timeline, the "most" common scenario is to send the application, not hear anything for 2-3 months, and then get an email from CIC stating that your application has been received (called the AOR). Usually within 24 hours of this email, your information is viewable for the first time on ECAS and it will typically say "Decision Made" and when you click on that it will say that your application is in process. Anywhere from 2-6 weeks after this, a fourth line will show up in ECAS stating that your PR card has been mailed and your status usually changes from "Decision Made" to "Complete". Depending on the officer who processed your application, you may or may not get a subsequent email and/or it may just randomly appear in ECAS.

All of these things are unpredictable and depend heavily on who is processing your specific application. Do not base your concern solely on what other people's experiences on here are. Additionally, there have been rolling technical problems with the production line that makes the PR cards and that has slowed things down too. If you are still within 100 days of applying, just wait it out.

I just realized I mixed up the status and timeline info. :)

Thanks for the explanation. Right, I did receive the AOR, 24 hrs later which was yesterday I was able to view my application status in ECAS - was "In Process", and clicking on it showed me the timelines with the last one being "We started processing your application on..". Today I saw the status changed to "Decision Made", nothing new in the timelines. I was just wondering if this meant, all's good or I should expect an RQ. I just hope the next update in a couple of weeks is that the PR card has been mailed.

Gotcha, no worries. There have been plenty of instances on this forum of users with timelines like yours, where DM comes a bit later on. For some, DM seems to show up immediately and for others it occurs later; there doesn't appear to be much of a pattern to this other than who is processing your application. You should consider creating a MyCIC account if you don't already have one, and then link your PR renewal application to your account. It provides more detailed info than ECAS and if there is an RQ coming it will probably show up on there (though even that isn't guaranteed, since CIC is known for being unpredictable with online status alerts). Good luck!

Thank you! I'll create an account and see if I find more detailed info. Appreciate your inputs.

hi Vera I had the same responses u got. DM Oct 10 was advised of production error. exactly 6wks later got email for photo retakes. I would inquire via web form if photo retakes are required. I would add 42days/ 6wks from Oct 30 to expect an email. there have been issues with production during October. keep us posted
Bad luck for all of us... I hope they would be able to figure it out without asking me for photo retake. We have to cancel the X'mas travel plan!

I have applied on 17-Nov and delivery notification by Canada Post on 23- Nov , When can I accept status from CIC , "Application Received" ?

I received AOR but I’m still not able to see it online, anyone have clues as to what I might be doing wrong?
