Dear All,

I Have a friend that is a Canadian Citizen, her husband got a visitor visa recently.

1. Once he gets to Canada, Can he get PR?
2. At the Airport what is the process?

No he cannot get PR at the airport. Your friend would need to sponsor her husband for PR, a process that could take near 12 months. He can only enter as a visitor.

Your friend could apply with an inland application once her husband is in Canada which would allow for a work permit to be applied for at same time. The work permit itself would take about 4 months, but PR still up to 12 months.

Alternatively apply with an Outland application which does not allow work but can be applied for with the husband outside or inside Canada . Outland is generally more flexible if someone needs to travel outside Canada as opposed to inland.

When can he get the PR?
There are no set questions that he maybe asked. They will ask usual questions:
How long are you planning to stay in Canada?
How do you two know each other?
When and from what airport will you leave Canada?
Can you show me your onward ticket?

Not sure what you mean by what happens at the airport?
You get off the plane, collect your bags, go through customs and bio security and go into the arrivals lounge.

PR is not granted on arrival at the airport. You need to follow the instructions and submit an application when you get home.
