Yes there are different programs. CEC, FSW, Provincial Nomination, Refugee. It's pretty complicated actually..

I work in a Middle Eastern country and wish to apply for Canadian Immigration. Is it compulsory to apply for PR from one's country of residence (nationality) or some other country where he is working ? Any one to reply.

You can apply from the country where you are working.
